DESCRIPTION:Introducing Viv Roberson\nOriginally from London but having moved to his mother’s home town of Falmouth in 1960\, Viv Robertson is a veteran solo performer playing a broad mix of blues\, folk\, country\, bluegrass\, rock\, reggae\, and shanties with 6 and 12-string guitars and harmonicas (no backing tracks). \nHe was a founder member of Falmouth’s first ever folk club. Known as Jon Vyvyan for some time\, he has now reverted to his given name. \nViv has played at many local festivals including Falmouth Folk and Cider Fayre\, Oyster Festival\, Truro Blues Festival\, St Ives Food Festival. Holifair\, Douarnenez Maritime Festival\, Falmouth Shanty Festival and Porthleven Food Festival where he was compere/MC on the Limekiln stage for 8 years in succession.\nHe has had residencies in Gibraltar\, Bermuda\, The Balearics and the Canaries.\nHaving fronted several bands he now does all solo gigs and hosts acoustic sessions. His somewhat chequered career includes stints as art teacher\, potter\, yacht skipper\, etc\, – all of which have informed his very large repertoire of songs. \nHere are some of his favourites but plenty more where they came from… \nDead Flowers\, Wagon wheel\, Nights in White Satin\, Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World\, Mary and the Soldier\, Speed of the Sound of Loneliness\, Stir it Up\, Hotel California\, Gimme Shelter\, Running Down a Dream plus around 300 more. \nWe are looking forward to seeing Viv perform. Now they are more often associated with parties\, celebrations\, and having a great time with friends and families.\nOur tunes\, songs\, and dances are guaranteed to get your feet tapping and you’ll be encouraged to get involved in the dances with our very own caller who’ll guide you through them. Above all\, we have fun and make sure you do too.\nWe are based in West Cornwall. Scarily we have over 100 years experience of playing music between us.
